Artist Spotlight: Blu

Some artists are hip. Some artists like to hop. Certain selected go pop; others stay grounded, yet the music never stops. Okay so I can’t rap, but I also can’t dunk from the free throw line. So all you speculators out there claiming that hip-hop is dead clearly have not heard of an up & coming artist by the name of…wait let me rephrase myself….by the color of Blu.
Representing what he calls the Lost Angels of California, Blu debuted his first Hip-Hop album, “Below the Heavens in Hell, Happy with Your New Imaginary Friend” around August of 2007, and since has been tagging his art in the canvases of the industry. First track off the album called “My world is…” Blu quickly invites you to his identity as a person and an emcee during our modern times. From stop animation graffiti videos to troubled drawings spread thru pages and pages of scrap paper, Blu gives his audience practically all emotional aspects the average 80s baby could ever embark (website). Give him some attention, and trust, this kid will blow up more potent than Lil Wayne’s lollipoppin’ ass….
P.S.> Not to be confused with the artist Blu (blublu.org) whose work is also great. Very great.
