How Did It All Begin…

You on point Fife? Yo, all the time Tip….!

Sorry I got some Tribe Called Quest on heavy rotation
So today, I want to write about my recent observations on religion. I’ve been trying to correlate the differences between Christianity and Islam. I’ve had the opportunity lately to hang out with some very interesting people who are extremely spiritual and I guess what I’ve noticed is what I wish to explicate. I think it’s important to note where it all started. I’m going to do something that I promised my colleague on this blog that I wouldn’t do. But I can’t tell the story without doing it. I’m going to quote a part from a television episode from a show that I’m sure alot of people know about.

Student: How did it all start?
First Lady: How did what all start?

Student: Well…this?!

First Lady: Sarah…God said to Abraham. ‘Look toward the heaven and number the stars and so shall your descendants be!’ But Abraham’s wife, Sarah, wasn’t getting any younger. And God wasn’t coming thru on his promise. I was very young when I had my kids. I was very, very, very, very young. I was barely even born yet when I had my oldest daughter Elizabeth. Anyway, Sarah was getting older and she was getting nervous because she didn’t have any children. So she sent Abraham to the bed of her maid, Hagar, and Abraham and Hagar had Ishmael. And not long after they did God kept his promise to Sarah, as he always intended to. And Abraham and Sarah, had Isaac. And Sarah said to Abraham ‘cast out this slave woman with her son for the son of a slave woman will not be heir with my son Isaac.’

And so it began…the Jews the sons of Isaac. The Arabs, the sons of Ishmael.

But what most people find important to remember is that in the end…

the two sons came together, to bury their father…

The clip is from West Wing. Can be found here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MSMdBKB-i3U

I’m not really sure how true those events are as I’m not a historian not to mention the severe ramifications of stipulating such a thing as that. However, when I wikipediaed Ishmael I found the following: “Both Jewish and Islamic traditions consider Ishmael as the ancestor of Arab people. [1]“

Discuss!!!!!!!!!!!

Ehh…just found that interesting. If you’re a peacemonger like me, you’ll like the following picture!

Roar!!!! Later Earthlings…

I am a Muslim and I would like to mention a few key points to your brief posting about religion. There is more to everyday life then the stories we find in the Holy Book of both the Muslims, Jews and Christians. In these Holy Books which include the Qur’an, Torah and The Gospel of Jesus son of Mary are observances that will incorporate happiness, delight and discipline. Each story is given to teach the believer about his or her religion and the delight of having God’s promises, blessings, commandments be fulfilled before their very eyes.
Modernity is not a stranger to the words of these Holy Books which continue to teach the most modern ways of doing anything.

    Thanks for your time.

I guess what I’m trying to say brother is the answer to whether God exists or not is yes.
